A truth not a tail!
On Saturday July 7, 2007 widely considered to be one of the ‘luckiest days of the millennium’, we did indeed hit the proverbial ‘wire-fox terrier jackpot’!
It was a warm and pleasant July morning. The sun was shining brightly and the air crisp, and clean. The grass green still kissed by the morning dew. A perfect day for morning strolls in the Assiniboine Park. It was 9 o’clock when we reached our destination; we parked the car near English gardens, and readied ourselves for the enjoyable walk. Colby eager to get started, when his eyes became affixed on a welcoming sight. Yes, his eyes trained to another very attractive female wire fox terrier. Ooh-la-la – was the thoughts going through Colby’s mind. She’s the same as me and she is very ‘pretty’! They became acquainted by the usual doggie methods, sniff and sniff some more! Then when you think fortune smiled upon you - more pleasant surprises – can you believe what happened next?
Yes, more wires joined the ‘summit’! There were five WFTs in all who joined the morning stroll. All, wires and owners alike, had fun and regalia. We met some wonderful people, and some lovely dogs. It was comforting to know – that we are not alone in ‘Wire world’.
