Our esteemed guest panel of judges have reviewed, evaluated and have chosen The Ancestors and Descendants of Thomas Sims Graves as the first recipient of Casey's Celtic Charm Awards SOTY - Colby's Choice 2005. We are extremely proud to announce and award this deserving site with our SOTY award.

Site Description: The Descendants of Thomas S. Graves is a culmination of many years of family research. The journey has taken me as far as Northern England and as close as my home State of Texas. I have attempted to tell a true story which I hope all will find interesting, even if you are not a Graves Family Descendant. We can not alter the past, but I feel very fortunate to have such a unique and colourful set of ancestors. From Outlaws to the Hero's we have attempted to bring them all back to life. My friend Daniel Stout is truly a master when it comes to making things look old. Every graphic was carefully chosen to compliment the topic. Even the graphics are unique in their own right, coming from a set of 1830's type settings, most are over 176 years old. Every award is special but winning The Site of the Year is an honor that gives us great pride. ........... Mike Graves

" This site is as content rich as it is beautifully crafted. Its interactive entrance sets the standard and that standard is maintained throughout. It seeks to provide a message, but that message is never overwhelmed by the technology used to convey that message. Information is presented in a well structured manner, with graphics that ably support text and provide historical context. This site is appealing on so many levels, but perhaps its greatest success comes from its ability to educate and entertain simultaneously.

The Descendants of TS Graves is awe inspiring for any designer. The site is simply beautiful in its design and execution. In keeping with "Colby's" eye for a unique blend of knowledge and technology this site has it all. The Daniel Stout flash animation is flawless and Michael Graves demonstrates his love for his subject with an exhaustive command of details and thorough subject treatment.

This well-designed site takes us on a journey into the past with great images and amazing stories of fascinating people and places. The author has obviously researched his subject thoroughly and has portrayed it for us in a professional, yet warm and friendly manner that makes learning about history fun.
